The GregWind Set is made from a recipe I cooked up years ago when I had time to wind my own pickups. The bridge pickup is 12k(like a PAF that was left on the winder a tickle too long!), with a punchy lower mid that cleans up nicely when you back off the volume to a cleaner chime. The neck is very sweet, and at full pop into a gain channel still has a clarity and "clink" to the notes while being very clear and articulate, regardless of volume setting. I always hated how dark and clotty the neck pickup would sound on a Les Paul when you ran into a clean channel and eq'ed for the bridge pickup.

I spent a long time talking to Will about pickups, and tried to trip him up with a few twisted questions. His answers and observations mirrored my experience, and he doesn't have a "Well, I KNOW and YOU DON'T" attitude. He was very willing to experiment, and he NAILED it the first time. I had a problem with another booteeky pickup maker, supply was spotty and specs seemed to waver. Not so with Will.

By the way, Aerosmith's front of house soundman insists that the Hamer with GregWinds is now the best sounding guitar that Brad owns through the PA.
