»Review of the Reverend Bridge! Thank you Robert!

8:56 am | General News

I received another wonderful email this morning from a customer regarding his recent pruchase of the Reverend Bridge pickup. Thank you Robert. Below is his email and please visit the great Les Paul Forum http://www.lespaulforum.com/ for another detail review from Robert & others at the Tone Zone.

Robert’s email:

Hello WB Pickups,

Just wanted to say that the Reverend pickup is beyond my expectation. I wanted a pickup that was a little hotter than the Gibson classic with more clarity to it and the Reverend did it and then some. The bass response on this pickup is hard to describe because I like it so much. Even at higher gain settings this pickup keeps the bass from getting muddy, it’s there! On the higher end of things the Reverend was bright on my amp settings for the Gibson classic but that’s what those nobs are for on your amp and with a couple turns I had it dialed in. Once again I didn’t know that somebody could build a pickup that had this type of gain without mud lows or those sizzle highs that I here in so many pickups. Am I gushing, you bet! Here is what I posted in the Les Paul Forum,

Got the Reverend yesterday, installed it, played a gig with it that night. WOW! I was a little gutsy going out and performing live with this new pup but I adjusted my amp to this pup and all I can say is, thank you Will Boggs.

First thing I noticed was the clarity of the tone range from bass to treble, especially the high strings. They jump out at you. This pup on purpose is hotter than a classic and the low end is so much better. No mud of course. The CTS pots I put in even reacted differently to this pup.The roll off taper is more consistent instead of a sudden drop at around eight. Love it.

I could go on but I would say that WB have the pup your looking for.

As soon as I get some other needed things I will be changing out my neck pickup and you can bet that it will be a WB pickup. Thanks again Will.
